On October 31st, the Junior Varsity Jaguars held their third league game versus the Westminster Lions at Jaguar Stadium. The Jaguars came out looking to add to their winning record. From the start of the game until the final whistle, the Jaguars were in control of the Lions. The Jaguars scored a total of 35 points in this contest. The Offense was led by Roland De La Cruz, Robert Soncrant Jr. (1 TD), Max Padilla, Mynor Garcia (1 TD), Gary Ferman (2 TDs), and the entire offensive line which created holes for the backs to run through. The Jaguars also scored through the air. Wide receiver Eric Acuna had his first touchdown reception at the end of the first half. Tight End Paul Moreno got into the act with three key receptions on third and long situations for the Jaguars.
The defensive unit picked up right where it left off from last week. The Jaguar defense held the Lions to only two offensive touchdowns. The Lions tried for two point conversions on each of their touchdowns, but were unable to convert. The Jaguar defense was led by Luis Lopez, Brian Aguilar, Sergio Mejia, Atlas Smith, Ramon Aguilar, and Fidel Avalos. Corner Jeffrey Chinchilla had a momentum changing interception late in the second quarter and gave the offense good field position on the return. Overall, every member of the defense had an impressive day. Final score 35-12.
