The Jaguars (5-2) spoiled Orange’s homecoming Thursday night with a 49-0 shutout. After both teams exchanged turnovers, Frankie Partida provided the spark to get the offense going. Outstanding performances were turned in by Aaron Amrine who led the Jaguars with 146 yards rushing and Justin Mills who scored three touchdowns. Matt Navarro and the offensive line provided another solid performance pacing the Jaguars for another 400 yards of total offense.
Defensively, the entire unit played assignment football. The Jaguars swarmed to the ball all night forcing three turnovers. Flavio Hernandez returned his interception for a touchdown, while Travis Williamson’s interception and Pedro Huerta’s fumble recovery established momentum. The special teams unit also flew to the ball with Manny Gonzalez and Robert Soncrant making big hits on the kick off
team. Johnny Miranda was perfect in all of his extra point attempts.
The Jaguars look to build on this type of team effort next Thursday night versus Westminster.
Albert Martinez #58 was injured in practice this week and will be out for the season. However, he and his family continue to support the Jaguars. Awaing surgery Albert rolls out to the game to support his teammates. Thanks to the Martinez Family for all their hard work and support!
